What does it truly mean to walk in the truth? Not just visit it, admire it from a distance, or check it off as a box in our spiritual routine, but actually live inside of it every single day? This message takes us deep into the third letter of John, where we encounter three distinct figures whose lives serve as mirrors for our own faith journey. Gaius represents the believer who is fully immersed in Christ, whose life naturally overflows into hospitality, generosity, and mission.

Diotrephes represents something far more sobering: a church leader who has drifted from genuine submission to God and replaced it with pride, careless words, and self-promotion. And Demetrius stands as a man whose testimony is confirmed not by his own claims, but by the fruit of his life and the truth itself. The central thread running through all three portraits is this: truth is not a set of principles or a political position. Truth is a person. Jesus declares in John 14 that he is the way, the truth, and the life, and that changes everything about how we understand what it means to follow him.

Walking in the truth means being bound to Christ himself, carrying our cross in the current of his grace, moving forward not by our own strength but by his. This message challenges us to ask honestly whether we are living in that river or simply standing on the bank, occasionally refreshed by a visit but never truly surrendered to the flow.
