Christian Atheist | Week 4
What does it mean to truly follow Jesus, not just in name, but in the way we live every single day? In this message, we dive deep into the final three letters to the churches found in Revelation chapter 3, where a powerful, fire-eyed, voice-like-crashing-waves Jesus looks past the surface of each congregation and speaks directly to what is really happening on the inside.
The contrast is striking: a church that looks alive but is spiritually dead, a church that is small and unimpressive by the world's standards yet walking in an open door that nothing can shut, and a church so comfortable and self-sufficient that it has become lukewarm, neither passionate nor cold, just dangerously middle-of-the-road. The spiritual lesson woven through all three is the same: Jesus is not impressed by appearances. He knows our deeds. He sees past the reputation, past the religious routine, past the comfortable numbness we can settle into when faith becomes habit rather than fire.
The call in each letter is urgent and personal: wake up, endure, and stop being satisfied with fine. Our faith was never meant to be fine. It was meant to be alive, transformative, and visible to everyone around us. This is an invitation to examine where we truly are and to let that honest look become the beginning of something new.
